MONROE COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — A man was shot and killed earlier this week after he made his way inside a Tompkinsville home, officials said.

According to Kentucky State Police, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office requested "investigative assistance" from KSP Post 15 at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 18, following a shooting that had occurred at a residence on Sugar Creek Road.

Authorities said a preliminary investigation indicates that 50-year-old Scott Eudy, of Cave City, had entered the home and was confronted by an occupant inside, who was armed with a gun.
