“His guilty plea is accepted,” Justice Charles D. Gardner said.
Crown counsel Kerri Malcolm told the court that in June, G.W. appeared at the Whitecourt RCMP detachment following an altercation with a woman.
G.W. said he was the aggressor, and there was a shoving match in which the woman’s shoulder was hurt. There were mental-health concerns shared with the court.
Malcolm noted the plea came early in the case and asked for an 18-month suspended sentence, under which G.W. must be on good behaviour.
