Madonna isn't just a beautiful stranger to Dakota Johnson .

The Splitsville actress revealed that she and the "Like A Prayer" singer have secretly been friends for years.

"I really love her," Dakota told E! News in an interview that aired Aug. 19. "We've been, like, weird friends for a while."

The 35-year-old went on to explain that she and Madonna, 67, first crossed paths when the Grammy winner starred alongside Antonio Banderas —who was married to Dakota's mother Melanie Griffith from 1996 until 2015—in the 1996 film Evita .

"I met her when I was really young, because she did a movie with my stepfather," Dakota shared, "and then I got to know her later because we were gonna work together on something."
