A24 ‘s dark comedy Friendship , starring Tim Robinson and Paul Rudd, is slated to begin streaming exclusively on HBO Max in the U.S. on Friday, September 5, the service announced on Wednesday.

The film will make its linear debut on HBO on Saturday, September 6 at 8:00 p.m. ET.

In Friendship , which hit theaters in May after premiering at the 2024 Toronto Film Festival, suburban dad Craig (Robinson) falls hard for his charismatic new neighbor (Rudd). But Craig’s attempts to make an adult male friend threaten to ruin both of their lives.

Kate Mara and Jack Dylan Grazer also star. Andrew DeYoung directed from his own script, in his feature debut, with Raphael Margules, J.D. Lifshitz, Nick Weidenfeld and Johnny Holland producing.

While in theaters, Friendship grossed over $16 mill
