All fresh milk products have been removed from buildings in the Jefferson County Public Schools district after officials discovered a “quality issue” Aug. 20.

District officials sent a notice to families that milk service would be paused in all schools after the issue had been identified with the fresh milk supply.

"We want to assure you that this issue was discovered before any of the impacted milk was served, and no students have consumed it," officials wrote.

JCPS spokesperson Carolyn Callahan confirmed that "all milk was removed immediately from every JCPS school this morning."

Callahan said the district’s Nutrition Services officials would meet with the vendor in the afternoon of Aug. 20 to determine when fresh milk can return to schools.
