BILOXI, Miss. (WLOX) - South Mississippi seniors were invited to take a ride on the new Amtrak Mardi Gras Service on Wednesday.

A group of about 60 seniors participated in the special day trip organized by Harrison County Senior Services.

“I have never rode the Amtrak. This is my first time, and it is checking off another item on my bucket list,” said Penny Berlin.

The group left the D’Iberville Senior Center and went to the Biloxi platform, where they boarded the train and traveled to Mobile, Alabama.

While in Mobile, they enjoyed a group lunch at Morrison’s.

Harrison County Senior Services was thrilled to take part in one of Amtrak’s historic first trips.
