PICAYUNE, Miss. (WLOX) - A man wanted in connection to a home invasion in Covington County, Mississippi, was arrested in Picayune.
The home invasion happened on Tuesday, August 19, and an alert was sent out to be on the lookout for Scottie Mitchell.
On Wednesday, an off-duty officer spotted a vehicle matching the suspect’s vehicle near the Long Bridge.
Officers went to the area and took Mitchell into custody.
According to authorities, a small bag of marijuana, over 12 grams of meth, and paraphernalia were recovered during the arrest.
Mitchell is charged with possession of a controlled substance.
He is also being held for the Covington County Sheriff’s Department.
