MHP said they are investigating two deadly wrecks. The wrecks happened 8 hours apart on Thursday.

WDAM reports the first wreck happened in Pearl River County at around 8:30 a.m. Thursday morning on Mississippi 43.

It involved a single vehicle. MHP said a 1994 GMC log truck was being driven by 65-year-old Billy Jefferson from Kokomo, Mississippi when it ran off the road and hit a tree.

Jefferson was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The second wreck happened at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday in Stone County on Mississippi 26.

MHP responded to a 2017 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by 64-year-old Angela Coats of Diamondhead, Mississippi. It ran off the left side of the road and hit a bridge rail.

Coats was pronounced deceased at the scene.

MHP is actively investigating both crashes.
