GREENSBORO, N.C. — When the phone rings and it's between 1 am and 6 am, it's a jolt. Then comes the message.

"It was saying it was Wells Fargo fraud line, and they were trying to charge something to my card. You know that time of night you get scared when you get a call," said Zell Becote.

The middle-of-the-night of the night calls and early morning calls are making the rounds. NC consumers are even posting about it on NextDoor. In the most recent post, the writer says the Caller ID showed the bank's name, making it appear more real.

Besides guarding your password and PIN, not relying on Caller ID is one of the most important safety guidelines from Wells Fargo.
