After travelling a fair distance on some recent walks, Claremont Rambling Club stayed within the central belt on Sunday, August 10, and headed east to the Firth of Forth, where there was a choice of two walks in the Cramond area.
After a coffee stop in Dobbies, Livingston, the club bus travelled to the Silverknowes Promenade, where the main walk of nine-and-a-half miles began. It continued to Cramond, the River Almond Walkway, the Dalmeny Estate, the wooded Shore Walk, past Barnbougle Castle and ended up in South Queensferry, where the social hour was enjoyed in the beer garden of the Hawes Inn right beside the Forth Rail Bridge.
