SACRAMENTO, Calif. —

Move-in day got off to a smooth start on the campus of Sacramento State on Wednesday.

The university welcomed incoming students and their loved ones with help from the school’s marching band, cheerleaders, faculty and student leaders.

New students started making their way into the Harper Alumni Center just after 8 a.m. to pick up their dorm keys and information packets.

The move–in day event has become part of an annual tradition for students arriving at Sac State for their first year.

“It’s meant to be enjoyable,” said Dr. Nadine Kelley, the university’s housing services executive director. “It’s meant to be a very memorable day for them coming in as new Hornets over here to Sac State.”
