KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed its search for a man accused of murdering a woman in 2022.
According to court documents, a grand jury indicted Richard Zane Holliday in July 2024 for a homicide that took place in March 2022.
In August 2025, however, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office learned that Holliday cut his ankle monitor off and requested a warrant for his arrest. A judge has since granted that warrant.
On Wednesday, Jackson County Sheriff Darryl Forté issued the following statement:
“We are aware of the defendant’s attempt to evade law enforcement, and active efforts are underway to locate him. We urge anyone coming into contact with Mr. Holliday to call your local law enforcement immediately.”
