Birmingham City signing Aleksandar Mitrovic has been branded unrealistic.

The Serbian, who currently plays in Saudi Arabia with Al-Hilal, was linked with a move to St. Andrew's earlier this week.

But BirminghamLive understands Blues are not currently pursuing a deal for the former Newcastle United and Fulham striker.

Mitrovic, who left the Cottagers in 2023, has built himself a reputation of being one of the greatest goal scorers the Sky Bet Championship has ever seen.

In their Premier League promotion season in 2021/22, the 30-year-old scored a record-breaking 43 goals with seven assists as he also guided Fulham to the title.

Such form would earn him a move to Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Hilal where he has continued scoring, netting 68 times in 79 appearances as he helped them
