A Coos Bay man pleaded guilty Monday in the drunk driving crash that killed a beloved softball coach and promising young Umpqua Community College student-athlete in April.
Jonathan J. Dowdy entered guilty pleas to two counts of second-degree manslaughter for the deaths of coach Jami Strinz, 46, and 19-year-old student Kiley Jones , according to court papers filed in Coos County Circuit Court.
Dowdy, 32, also pleaded guilty to three counts of third-degree assault, five counts of fourth-degree assault as well as driving with a suspended license and DUII.
