With the goal of ensuring cereal crops by 2026, Guárico is promoting a seed production project with the planting of 327 hectares of rice and corn at the Río Tiznados Socialist Irrigation Company, located in the Ortiz municipality.
Through his social media, Governor Donald Donaire posted a video detailing the planting of 240 hectares of white corn (Turén variety) and 67 hectares of yellow corn (Guanape variety), with the goal of obtaining the seeds that will allow for the production of more than 40.000 hectares of this crop in the next agricultural cycle.

Furthermore, it is noteworthy that for the first time, the company planted more than 20 hectares of rice, with the goal of reducing dependence on external
