SAN DIEGO (FOX 5/KUSI) -- The City of San Diego recently launched a survey focused on understanding and addressing community recreation needs.

The first-ever Community Recreation Needs Assessment invites San Diegans to provide their thoughts on city-owned facilities and recreational activities provided by the city's Parks and Recreation Department.

In collaboration with Keen Independent Research, Inc., the city will gather insight from surveys, interviews, in-person public meetings and more to evaluate how well the community's recreational needs are being met.

Following the assessment, the city will develop an action plan to address areas of concern and eliminate any barriers to recreation in the community.
