ALLENDALE, Mich. — Excitement was high on Grand Valley State University’s campus as students and families hauled boxes, unpacked cars and kicked off the new school year.

This year, they had some extra help. Several student organizations teamed up to make move-in smoother than ever.

“We are going into our junior year, he's going into his sophomore year. So this is the third year for me, second year with the org that we have on campus, Black Leaders Aspiring for Critical Knowledge. And it's just a lot of fun stuff that we got planned this year on top of, like us getting a swing at college. So it's just gonna be real fun,” said Jaylen Jenkins.
