Over the last six months, Miranda Gray was beaten, pushed into doors, threatened with one knife and cut with another in at least three separate documented incidents.

Now she's dead, strangled on Aug. 18, Metro Nashville Police said in a statement.

Investigators arrested her boyfriend, 40-year-old Jared Streich, in connection with all those incidents and, now, her death.

Streich, a former attorney, called police to 46-year-old Gray's Hermitage Park Drive apartment at about 9:30 a.m. reporting that she was unresponsive. When police arrived, it was obvious Gray was dead, according to their statement. An officer asked Streich how long she'd been unre
