A 19-year-old has been rushed to hospital after a suspected stabbing at a tram stop in Greater Manchester.

Emergency services raced to Crescent Road, near the Abraham Moss Metrolink stop, at around 2.20pm to reports of a serious assault.

The victim was rushed to hospital from the scene of the incident, which detectives believe was a stabbing. His injuries are not currently described as life-threatening.

Part of the area was sealed off with officers stationed at the cordon on Wednesday afternoon. Witnesses saw a police van in attendance as Metrolink services were stopped from serving the station amid investigations.
