FRANKFORT, Ky. — Kentucky communities affected by natural disasters in 2023 and 2024 could receive more federal help. On Wednesday, the Disaster Prevention and Resiliency Task Force learned more ways to help their communities.
Nearly every county in Kentucky with a major disaster declaration is eligible for a share of grant money from the U.S. Economic Development Administration. The combined task force of state senators and state representatives heard from Grant Ready Kentucky and lobbying firm, Babbage Cofounder.
The $1.5 billion was announced in June of this year and is available for communities nationwide to apply on a first-come, first serve basis.
