ST. JOHNSBURY — A Morristown man is accused of strangling a Hardwick woman and dumping her body in Woodbury.
Michael A. Williams, 60, pleaded not guilty Wednesday in Caledonia County criminal court in St. Johnsbury to a felony count of second-degree murder. If convicted, Williams faces a maximum sentence of life in prison and a presumptive minimum sentence of 20 years. He was ordered held without bail, pending a weight-of-the-evidence hearing, and was housed at Northeast Correctional Complex in St. Johnsbury as of Wednesday afternoon.
