QUINCY (WGEM) - The man charged in connection with a shooting at the Quincy TJ Maxx in July of 2024 was in court on Wednesday for a status hearing.

Court documents show that at the hearing, a bench trial was set for 22-year-old Alan Pacheco, of Quincy, at 9 a.m. on Dec. 1 and Dec. 2.

Pacheco was arrested on July 6, 2024, after a 22-year-old man was found with gunshot wounds outside of the Quincy TJ Maxx.

They arrested Pacheco after he returned to the scene to give a statement to police.

Pacheco’s attorney Ryan Schuenke argued that the two men Pacheco shot at were the aggressors and Pacheco was acting in self-defense.

Pacheco is charged with attempted first-degree murder, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, and two counts aggravated discharge of a firearm.
