HERRIN, Ill. (KFVS) - One man was arrested when investigators served a federal warrant in southern Illinois on Wednesday, August 20.

According to the Herrin Police Department, the warrant was served in the 300 block of South 17th Street as part of an ongoing investigation.

One man, Michael Sloan, was taken into custody.

The Herrin Police Department was joined by the U.S. Marshals Service, the Southern Illinois Enforcement Group and ILEAS.

Police say residents may notice a larger law enforcement presence in the area as the investigation continues.

They stressed there is no ongoing threat to the public at this time.
