NELSON, Neb. (KSNB) - A multi-vehicle crash in Nuckolls County Tuesday evening killed one woman and injured three others, according to the Nuckolls County Sheriff’s Department.

Emergency responders received reports of the collision at 6:32 p.m. on Highway 14, about 2 miles south of Nelson. Deputies, EMTs and fire crews arrived to find a Ford F-150, a Dodge Grand Caravan and a Ford Explorer with significant damage.

Officials said the driver of the F-150 died at the scene despite lifesaving efforts by the Nelson Volunteer Fire Department, Nelson Rescue Squad and Superior Rescue Squad.

Rescuers pulled two people from the Dodge Grand Caravan. Crews transported them to Brodstone Memorial Hospital in Superior before a helicopter flew them to Bryan West in Lincoln, according to deputies.
