LINCOLN COUNTY, Wash. — Firefighters gained significant control over the Crescent Road Fire Tuesday, reaching 81% containment of the 881-acre blaze and allowing officials to lift all evacuation orders for affected residents.

According to Department of Natural Resources, all evacuation levels will be dropped as of 6 p.m. Wednesday. The fire will transition to a Type 4 Incident Command as the current 35-person crew completes its final operational shift.

DNR said crews conducted mop-up operations Tuesday. Many resources were released back to their home units as containment increased.
