AUSTIN, Texas — Lake Travis High School's Cavalier Stadium is set to undergo some major changes.
A filing to demolish the old stadium and build a new one was registered on Wednesday with the state.
In July, the board of trustees approved a guaranteed maximum price of $48.3 million for the project.
The renovations will nearly double the stadium's capacity from 7,400 to 12,000 seats.
The project includes a new women's field house, press box, locker rooms, concession stands and a spirit store.
Voters approved $22.3 million in the 2023 bond for stadium renovations. District officials said they found efficiencies in other bond projects to cover the higher costs.
Construction will begin next month and is expected to wrap up by the end of 2026.
