BOYD COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) - Boyd County is rolling out a new mass notification system through Hyper-Reach.
Emergency Management Director Tim England said Hyper-Reach will replace the current system, known as AlertSense, starting Aug. 30.
That means if you’re already signed up for alerts, you’ll need to register again to continue getting notifications.
“The reason we push so hard is that this is a way for us to be able to reach all of our public -- whether it is a true emergency, whether it’s a natural disaster, even something as a boil water advisory,” England said. “Any type of community alert that we need to send out -- if they register, then they’re going to be able to receive those.”
Residents can sign up online , by phone call, or by texting the word “alert” to 606-254-1454.
