EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio — Officials confirm one person is dead after a multi-family home caught fire in East Cleveland early Wednesday morning.
City authorities tell 3News the fire broke out at the building within the 1600 block of Bryn Mawr Road around 4:30 a.m. The building contains three floors with separate living units on each of them, with the flames originating from one unit before spreading to the other two.
One person was able to escape from the bottom floor, while crews were searching for an older man believed to have been living on the second floor. 3News has since confirmed that man has died, and family members have identified him as 64-year-old Leslie Hiller.
