BARBERTON, Ohio — Police in Barberton have arrested a man they say was found with a loaded gun and multiple "improvised explosive devices" Wednesday evening.
According to a release from the police department, officers were on patrol along North Van Buren Avenue when they encountered the suspect around 6:30 p.m. After detaining the individual and confiscating the firearm, the officers "isolated" the explosives while closing down the road between East Ford and East Baird Avenues.
Members of the Summit County Bomb Squad arrived at the scene and "secured" the explosives, per authorities. No injuries were reported, and North Van Buren reopened at 8:35 p.m.
The suspect has since been identified as 38-year-old Christopher D. Wilson, of Akron. He is currently being held at the Barberton City
