“Renaming this portion of SR 6 is an initial step in honoring Officer Phillip Wagner’s sacrifice in the line of duty in a long journey to recovery for his fellow officers, the greater Lorain community, and most importantly, his loved ones,” Miller said in a statement.
The beginning of “Officer Phillip Wagner Memorial Highway” would start on State Route 6 right outside of the Lorain Police Department, and end where SR 6 meets SR 58.
Community members said the potential renaming is a beautiful way to honor Lorain’s fall
