LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A former city employee has filed a lawsuit against Louisville Metro Government for alleged gender discrimination and retaliation.
The lawsuit was filed by Jessica Thornton, who it says managed 185 employees after being promoted to assistant director of facilities and fleet management in 2019.
According to the lawsuit, between 2014 and 2019, Thornton and three male employees reported directly to the same supervisor, however she argues the men received “significantly higher salaries” despite overseeing less employees and responsibilities.
In November 2020, Thornton brought up her concerns about gender discrimination in pay to her supervisor.
