CHARDON, Ohio — Chardon High School has an increased police presence on campus Wednesday after administrators investigated a verbal threat made against the school the previous afternoon.
In a message to families Tuesday evening, Principal Adam Tomco said the administration was notified of the threat shortly after dismissal and “acted swiftly to investigate this threat” with the Chardon Police Department.
District spokesperson Mason Cole said administrators worked with police Tuesday night and found it to not be a credible threat.
Chardon Police Chief Scott Niehus later described how a student overheard a threat from another student and told a staff member, which launched the investigation.
