SEELEY LAKE, Mont. – The community of Seeley Lake has been on edge after a series of dog attacks and dangerous encounters in recent weeks. Residents have expressed concerns about the response time from Missoula County’s Animal Services.

Mary Welch, a 62-year-old resident, shared her terrifying experience of being attacked by a dog on the evening of July 27. She described the ordeal, saying, “Imagine your worst ever horror movie and then times it times 20… and that’s what I lived through in that moment.”

Welch was attacked while on her usual walk when a neighbor’s dog lunged at her from behind a pile of wood. “And started chewing on me everywhere… which he missed my carotid artery by a quarter inch, my arm has been through surgery twice, they re-constructed it… you can see this arm,” she
