JEROME — The lead attorney in the newly created State Public Defender’s Office in Jerome County is still employed in her position while facing a misdemeanor DUI charge, according to an email received Tuesday from the office's spokesman.
Spokesman Patrick Orr said the office does not comment on active cases or personnel matters, but he acknowledged that Michelle Agee, 35, is an "active employee."
"It’s important to emphasize that anyone charged with a crime is entitled to the presumption of innocence and the fundamental right to due process," Orr said in the email.
