LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – A woman employed by the Little Rock School District was shot and killed in a parking lot outside the Rockefeller Early Childhood Center on Wednesday afternoon, according to officials.

A 911 call of shots fired was made on Wednesday around 2:55 p.m. at 700 E 17th St., according to the Little Rock Police Department call logs. Officials said the shooting happened at 15th and Bragg Street, around the corner.

Mayor Frank Scott Jr. confirmed that the woman was an employee of the Little Rock School District. The alleged shooter is in custody, the mayor said.
