The Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs on Wednesday announced 15 rural communities will receive more than $10.8 million in federal grant funding to expand community facilities, improve water infrastructure and eliminate blight.
The office distributes Community Development Block Grant funds to rural communities, which assist units of local government with various community projects such as infrastructure improvement, downtown revitalization, public facilities and economic development.
Four of the recipient communities are in northeast Indiana.
The city of Auburn in DeKalb County was awarded $750,000 as part of the Public Facilities Program to assist with the rehabilitation of damaged masonry, deteriorating lintels, and windows and doors of the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Automobile
