NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — New Haven officials responded to a body in the water in the area of East Shore Park on Wednesday afternoon.

The individual was pronounced dead at the scene with no evident signs of trauma, according to an X post that the New Haven Police Department posted at 3:23 p.m.

The cause and manner of death are unknown at this time, pending an autopsy.

Police have not released further information at this time.
