NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (WTNH) — The impending back-to-school season is also crunch time for New Britain-based transportation company DATTCO.
DATTCO said they currently don't have a bus driver shortage, like they did a few years ago. But they are hiring. The company provides in-house training to future drivers.
“We'll take someone who has never driven a bus from scratch and we'll help them walk through the permit process, the paper test process all the way up to the road test to get their CDL, a license to drive a school bus,” DATTCO Chief Operating Officer Kyle DeVivo said.
Maintenance crews are busy getting the DATTCO fleet of 400 new school buses ready for the new year.
