A Long Island man who was allegedly speeding while high on drugs caused a six-vehicle crash that seriously injured an elderly couple , officials said Wednesday.

Miandad Khan, 37, of Dix Hills, was indicted for aggravated vehicular assault and related charges following a wrong-way crash in Deer Park over the weekend, Suffolk County District Attorney Raymond A. Tierney said in a news release.

The incident unfolded around 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Khan was driving his silver 2016 Mercedes-Benz E350 in the northbound lane of Deer Park Ave. when he allegedly struck a white 2020 Acura near the intersection of Deer Park Ave. and Jacqueline Way and fled.
