SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) - WNDU 16 News Now has exclusively learned the family of the 14-year-old involved in that viral video showing her detainment in South Bend is now being represented by a prominent civil right attorney from Chicago.

Andrew M. Stroth is managing partner at Action Injury Law Group, which specializes in cases like this one involving the teen and South Bend police officer PFC. Samuel Chaput.

“The video that we witnessed today showed an officer — [who] we now know has a history of excessive force — wrestling and throwing to the ground an unarmed 100-pound 14-year-old black girl,” Stroth told WBDU 16 News Now’s Joshua Short.
