A Lake County Judge granted the estranged wife of former Osceola County Sheriff Marcos Lopez’s motion to remove electronic GPS monitoring from her conditions of pre-trial release.

This was the first time a co-defendant in the state’s racketeering case from an investigation into an illegal gambling ring returned to court since bonding out of the Lake County jail.

"The defendant has strong ties to the community,” Judge Brian Welke said at the end of a 30-minute hearing. “She's posted a significant bond. It would be very easy to deny this motion, however, considering all the factors I'm going to grant the motion."
