ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — For the first time in the history of the Grand Prix of St. Petersburg, the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will join the cars and stars of the IndyCar Series when racing returns to the streets of St. Petersburg in 2026.

NASCAR announced the 2026 schedules for all three national series (Cup, O'Reilly Auto Parts, and Trucks) on Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2025 . Nestled in the announcement was the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series' first-ever visit to a street course.

The Truck Series was already scheduled to hold its first street race along the Coronado Naval Base in San Diego in June 2026 , but Wednesday's announcement means that title will actually go to St. Petersburg.
