Former Fresno State Bulldog Josh Hokit punched his ticket to the UFC on Tuesday night.
Hokit, who left football in 2023 to compete in mixed martial arts in 2023, was selected as a contract winner by UFC CEO Dana White during the Dana White Contender Series on ESPN+.
Flashback: Hokit played linebacker and running back for Fresno State from 2016-2020. • He was not selected in the 2020 NFL Draft, but he signed with the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent. • While he never ended up making the 53-man roster with the 49ers, he was a fixture on the practice squad. Hokit briefly signed with the Arizona Cardinals in 2022. • In 2023, Hokit began his mixed martial arts career, where he went 5-0 through the UFC’s minor league, Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA).
