MACY, Neb. (KTIV) - The Omaha Tribe in Nebraska will put on its annual Hedewachi Celebration Pow Wow Aug. 21-24, in Macy, Nebraska.
Jason Sheridan, the Tribal Chairman on the Omaha Tribe Council, says this is an celebration which has that honors all of the Tribe’s accomplishments and successes throughout the past year, and it has been traced back at least 221 years.
He says it is an event you won’t want to miss.
“It’s open to the public. There’s no admission,” said Sheridan. “All we ask is you know get their early, get yourself a good seat, because you’re really going to be entertained. If it’s your first time, you’re really going to be entertained.”
Sheridan also says there will be drum and dance contests, native foods, and many different tribes present.
