SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - On Wednesday, August 20, a local organization created a fundraising event in the heart of Sioux City to promote the community’s local fresh food.

The Sioux City Farmers’ Market held its first-ever Planted and Plated fundraiser event in Downtown Sioux City.

Seated along part of 4th Street, diners enjoyed a 5-course meal created by cooks from the Main and Abbey restaurant at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Sioux City.

All of the courses were crafted using ingredients sourced from vendors at the Sioux City Farmers Market.

Organizers say this event wasn’t just a way to raise money. It also brought the community together to show what unique dishes could be made from local ingredients.
