A Bronx man is facing second-degree murder charges for his alleged involvement in a killing that took place eight years ago.

Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark announced the arraignemnt of Jonathan Odenthal Diaz, 31, in the shooting death of a mother who had been walking home that evening with dinner for her four sons.

He's accused of opening fire near Boston Road and East Tremont Avenue in the West Farms neighborhood on Jan. 6, 2017. The bullets hit Cindy Diaz, 48, who had been walking home with food from McDonald’s, though she was not the intended target.

Diaz, who is no relation to her accused killer, was shot once in the chest and once in the arm. She was taken to Saint Barnabas Hospital where she later died from her injuries.
