CINCINNATI —
Cincinnati Public Schools (CPS) began the new academic year on Wednesday with significant changes, including the opening of new middle schools like South Avondale School, which now serves students aged 11 to 14.
Principal April Simmons expressed readiness for the changes, acknowledging the challenges that come with them. Advertisement
"Change is hard. And we are all trying to just come together and make sure that we're supporting one another. Kids will have questions. Parents will have questions. Heck, we had questions," Simmons said.
One major change involves transportation, as yellow bus service has been discontinued for seventh and eighth graders. Superintendent Shauna Murphy explained that those students will now use Metro buses unless they have private transportation
