NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A Clarksville woman has been sentenced in federal court for child neglect after her baby sustained severe burns from bath water, according to the Department of Justice.

Lyndsey T. Bustamante, 29, of Clarksville, was sentenced to 11 years and 4 months in federal prison for aggravated child neglect. She will also be on supervised release for four years following her release from prison.

According to the DOJ, Bustamante’s husband former U.S. Army Soldier Andrew Garasich burned their two-month-old baby by giving him a bath in water that was too hot on December 30, 2022.

Bustamante was with the couple’s other child and not home at the time of the incident, but neither parent took the baby for me
