LAGUNA NIGUEL, Calif. (KABC) -- A brush fire that erupted Wednesday afternoon threatened structures in Laguna Niguel before firefighters stopped its forward progress, officials said.
The so-called Beacon Fire broke out near Ridgeway Avenue and Alcott Place at around 3:26 p.m., according to the Orange County Fire Authority.
The fire was burning close to homes and forced evacuation orders for Copps Hill Street while a shelter-in-place order was issued for Middleton and Alcott Places.
All orders were lifted at around 6:35 p.m.
Firefighters held the fire at 4 acres.
There was minor damage to fences at the rear of a few homes, according to officials.
No structures were lost and no injuries were reported, according to OCFA.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
