King County is expanding a program that brings urgent mental health care to youth and families, officials announced Wednesday.

Previously, the county had two teams that were available 24/7 to travel throughout the county and support young people and their families during mental health and substance use emergencies. The teams of two, typically made up of a mental health professional and a trained peer, are trained to de-escalate crises and connect youth and families with resources.
